Monday Night Racing

STYC’s Monday nights have completed 3 races so far. We’ve 5 boats entered but unfortunately we are only seeing 2 to 3 boats on the line.  #26 drove all the way from Santa Cruz, rigged their boat and headed out, fortunately #60 came out so there were 2 Moore’s on the line.  Great night of northerly breeze, you should have been there.

Weekend Racing

#124 ‘More Cowbell’ and #26 ‘More Uff Da’ headed south to the Cruz Regatta in Santa Cruz California for some spectacular racing.  Saturday had shifty winds ranging from 8 to 22 knots, one boat recorded 14.5 knots boat speed on Saturday.  Sunday the wind came on to blow, I’ve never gone faster, well I say that every time, but it was fun.  8 boats dropped out of the last race but we both made it through.  #26 ended up 7th and #124 ended up 14th.

#4 Moves to Bellingham

#4 has sold and moved to Bellingham Washington to join the NW Fleet!  Maybe we will see them at the Windemere regatta.

Weekend Racing

The Northwest Moore 24 fleet was spread thin this weekend, everyone chasing their own race.  #124 headed south to race in the Resin Regatta on San Francisco Bay, taking 13th in a tough one design fleet.  #38 sailed in the Anacortes Yacht clubs Tulip Regatta up in Anacortes Washington (pictures), taking 2nd place in their PHRF class.  #26 and #60 raced PHRF in the CYC Seattle’s PSSR (pictures) taking 1st and 6th respectively.

Monday nights in Seattle start next Monday and we’ve 6 Moore’s entered for the series, should be a hoot!  We’re all looking forward to racing together again in May for Sailing Worlds NOOD Regatta!

The start of the 2008 NW Trek was hosted by the Sloop Tavern Yacht Club April 5th in some great spring conditions, 12 knots out of the south and no rain!  6 Moores entered the race and enjoyed the dockside after race activities.  6th went to #108 ‘Runnin’ Blues,’ 5th went to #60 ‘Mordacious,’ 4th went to team estrogen on #38 ‘Lowly Worm.’ 3rd went to #124 ‘More Cowbell,’ 2nd went to #132 ‘Sputnik,’ and 1st went to #26 ‘More Uff Da.’  Next up is Sailing Worlds NOOD next month.

#26 ‘More Uff Da’ Wins Center Sound Series!

#26 ‘More Uff Da’ comes on strong in the last race of the series taking first in class.  For the 3 race PHRF series #26 takes 1st and #60 ties for 3rd.  Some interesting racing in crazy spring conditions.  See the results at http://cycseattle.org
